Eligibility Requirements for the WIOA Program

Proof of Citizenship
Acceptable documentation: Birth Certificate, U.S. Passport, or Social Security Card (required)

Must be 18 or older
Verifiable by: Birth Certificate, Driver's License or State ID

Sonoma County Resident
Participants in the WIOA Program must provide proof of residency in Sonoma County.
Acceptable documentation: Driver's License, Voter Registration Card, Utility Bill with name and address, Rental Agreement/Lease

Native American Ethnicity
Acceptable documentation: Census Roll #, Tribal ID card, Birth Certificate stating Native American heritage, Tribal Office verification of enrollment, Demonstrated previous approval to receive other Native American services (i.e. Native American Health Services, commodity distributions, etc.)

Income Eligibility​
In order to meet the income eligibility, participants in the WIOA Program must meet one of the following conditions and provide documentation as proof:
Low-Income

If you receive any of the following: Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), USDA commodity program, Food Stamps, etc.

If you earned less than 70% of the Lower Living Standard Income Level (LLSIL) for your family size
Unemployed

If you were issued a Layoff notice within the last 6 months or
-
If you will be terminated if you do not meet basic education requirements (GED), if you need additional training or certificates , or if you need appropriate clothing/equipment to remain in your job
Underemployed

If you are working less than full time or
-
There is no advancement opportunity with your current employer without training

Selective Service​
